Parker Simmonds Solicitors specialise extensively in compensation law in Queensland and New South Wales, and are backed by over twenty years of experience.
Queensland has in place a no-fault statutory workers’ compensation initiative by the Commonwealth Government which assists by providing financial benefits to all employees who are injured in the course of their employment.
If you have been injured at work, or have suffered injury or disease that you feel your work contributed to, then you may be entitled to make a claim for workers’ compensation.
Under the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 (Qld) if you have suffered an injury at work you may be entitled to claim compensation and benefits under the legislation, as follows:
- Lump sum payment for permanent impairment;
- Rehabilitation and return to work programs or re-training if required;
- Medical treatment and hospital expenses;
- Loss of earnings (both past and future); and
- Travelling and pharmaceutical expenses.
